Because I've been subscribed to DeviantART for a while now, I could use the alpha version of Version 3 before it was available to everyone, and although it looked really swish, I didn't exactly like it. There was nothing really new in it, and it didn't seem that much faster at all, even though there were hardly any people using it.

However, since the full version's gone live, I love it. It's lightning fast, don't you think? Every page loads in an instant, and looks even nicer than on DAv2. The minimal skin's my favourite at the moment, because not only does it look fantastic, it seems to cut loading time even more!

Now, the main reason I wanted to write a new journal entry, except to show people that I'm alive and still frequenting DA as much as ever, was to talk about Deviant Page comments. I'm not keen on them, and I think everyone who's commented on my work knows that I prefer notes to Deviant comments. I'm not sure what it is about them, but I just think they're unnecessary, and thanking people by using them is a strang convention that just leads to people showing off about how many comments they've got, much like pageviews. Isn't it much nicer to get a note, which comes in your email so you don't forget to read it, and is much more personal?

Sending notes shows you really care about someone's work and value their comments on yours I think, so it's strange that no one else uses them. Bear that in mind when looking at my Deviant Page. Just because I don't leave many Deviant comments, doesn't mean I won't thank you for critiquing my work and helping me out. I'll appreciate it a lot.
